Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common buyer questions about jigger dyeing machines and dyeing & finishing equipment - from fabric types and working widths to customization, shipping, payment and after-sales.

What is a jigger dyeing machine?

A jigger (also called a jig dyeing machine) is an open-width dyeing machine that moves fabric back and forth between two rollers while it passes through a small dye bath. It is widely used for dyeing, scouring, bleaching and washing of woven fabrics, and is especially suited to small batches and frequent style changes.

What is the difference between an atmospheric jigger and a high-temperature high-pressure jigger?

An atmospheric jigger dyes under normal pressure, usually at temperatures up to about 100 degC, and is suited to cotton, linen, silk, rayon and nylon fabrics. A high-temperature high-pressure (HT-HP) jigger works inside a sealed chamber at higher temperature and pressure, which is required for disperse dyeing of polyester and other synthetic fabrics.

Which fabrics can be dyed on your jiggers?

Our atmospheric jiggers suit open-width fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, nylon, rayon and synthetic filaments, and can run disperse, sulfur, vat, direct and reactive dyes as well as scouring, bleaching and washing processes. Our high-temperature high-pressure jiggers additionally handle various synthetic and cotton/linen fabrics for disperse dyeing.

What working widths are available?

Working width depends on the series: for example, the SWR1000 series is available in widths from 1800 to 3400 mm, the SWRl400 jumbo jigger reaches wider working widths up to 3800 mm, and other series cover 1600-3400 mm. Tell us your fabric width and we will match the right machine.

What is a jumbo jigger?

A jumbo jigger is a large-roll jigger with a bigger main roller and a larger maximum fabric roll diameter, so it can handle longer batches and heavier fabric rolls in one pass. It is the essential choice for dyehouses running longer lots on open-width fabrics.

What does double-frequency-conversion mean on a jigger?

It means the machine uses two variable-frequency drives (frequency converters) to control the two main rollers independently, keeping the fabric under constant tension and constant linear speed in both directions. This reduces shade variation and gives a more level dyeing result.

What liquor ratio do your machines run at?

Liquor ratio varies by machine: for example, our NGR high-temperature high-pressure propeller jigger runs at a liquor ratio of 1:3, and our GM38 atmospheric dyeing machine achieves an extremely low 1:5. A lower liquor ratio saves water, steam and chemicals per batch.

Can the machine be customized for our fabric width, voltage and frequency?

Yes. Working width, drive side, control options and auxiliary units are configured to your requirements. Please confirm your local voltage and frequency (for example 380V/50Hz or 460V/60Hz) when you inquire, and our engineers will confirm the electrical configuration for your market.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our machines are designed for small-batch, multi-variety production and we build to order. Please confirm the model, working width and configuration with our sales team, and we will give you an exact MOQ and quotation for your requirement.

What is your lead time?

Lead time depends on the model, configuration and production schedule at the time of order. Please contact us with your requirement and target delivery date, and we will confirm a delivery plan for you.

How are the machines packed and shipped for export?

Machines are packed in export-standard crating with proper fixing and rust protection for sea freight, and can be shipped by container from nearby ports. We coordinate the packing and shipping arrangements with you or your freight forwarder.

Do you provide installation and operator training?

Yes. We assist with installation and commissioning after delivery and hand over the machine once the running parameters are confirmed. Operation and maintenance training is also provided so your team can master the machine and daily care quickly.

What after-sales support do you provide?

We provide spare parts supply for common wear parts and accessories, technical support by phone and email, and on-site assistance where arranged. Our service covers machine selection, installation and commissioning, parts and training.

Can I visit your factory?

Yes, you are welcome to visit our workshop in Qianzhou Town, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. Contact us to arrange a factory visit and see the machines and production process in person.

How do I get a quotation?

Send us your fabric type, working width, process requirements and quantity through the contact form or by email. We will recommend the right machine and send you a detailed quotation and technical parameters.

Which dye classes can be used on your machines?

Our jiggers can run disperse, sulfur, vat, direct and reactive dyes, plus scouring, bleaching, soaping and washing processes. The GM38 dyeing machine and HT-HP dyeing machine cover additional application ranges for synthetic and blended fabrics.

What certificates does your factory hold?

As a production factory, we hold the required business and foreign trade operator registrations. For specific certificates related to your market, please contact us and we will confirm the documentation available for your order.

What is the difference between jigger dyeing and jet or overflow dyeing?

A jigger dyes open-width fabric under gentle, low-tension control, which is ideal for woven fabrics and small batches. Jet and overflow dyeing machines move rope-form fabric through a nozzle and dye in larger lots, but subject the fabric to mechanical action that some woven or delicate fabrics cannot tolerate.

What payment terms do you accept?

Payment terms are agreed in the sales contract for each order. Contact our sales team with your requirement, and we will confirm the terms, documentation and banking details for your transaction.

Why should we buy from Wuxi Runda?

We are a production factory focused on dyeing and finishing machinery since 2004, with long-term R&D cooperation with textile research institutes and colleges. Our jiggers absorb design advantages from Japan, Denmark and Italy, suit small-batch, multi-variety, low-energy production, and are exported to Japan, Thailand, India, Pakistan and Southeast Asia with complete after-sales service.
