What the machine does
Foil is laid on the cloth and pressed with a heated roller. Heat and pressure transfer the foil layer to the surface. The cloth leaves the machine with a metallic, glossy or patterned finish.
This page is about fabric. It is not the hot-foil printer used on paper, cards and packaging, and not a leather embossing press.
What it is used for
Decorative foil logos and patterns on sportswear, footwear uppers, bags, upholstery and synthetic leather goods. Substrates include woven and knit fabric, coated fabric, PU and PVC synthetic leather, and polyester.

How to choose
State the effect first: foil logo, all-over metallic, or surface gloss. Foil stamping and embossing need different rollers and temperatures.
State the substrate. Synthetic leather, coated fabric, polyester and knit goods react differently to heat and pressure.
Check the foil, adhesive and roller temperature as a set. They must suit the fabric, or the foil will not bond.
Ask for a sample on your fabric before you decide.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as a hot foil printer for paper?
No. This is a machine for fabric and fabric-based goods.
Can it stamp coated fabric and synthetic leather?
Yes, those are common substrates. Tell us the coating and base cloth.
What do I send for a quote?
